I can’t believe my second semester in the On-line Literacy program is almost over. Don’t get me wrong…I’m thrilled as I am definitely ready for a nice relaxing summer with my family, but it’s just hard to believe. It really seems like I had just recently decided to go to Canisius and was beginning my classes and now here I am ~ finishing up my last few assignments.

This week has seemed to have passed me by. It’s just a blur of birthday parties, assignments and orders being mailed. Can you believe my husband and I actually went to see a movie with friends this week? However, I don’t really remember which day we went at the moment – lol – this is how insanely packed full the week has been. Never the less, the movie “Date Night” was hilarious and quite enjoyable. We went with two other married couples (one other has children) and a friend of ours who went stag that night. Overall a good night.

Okay, so it’s Friday and it definitely doesn’t feel like the weekend. I have a decent size paper to finish for 502 tomorrow night and I have to complete the assessments portion of my Literacy Unit. What a busy weekend. I was hoping to have a girl’s night out with a couple of friends who are also currently stay-at-home-moms, but not sure if it will be in the cards for me this weekend.

Okay, so I was really excited about having a Spring break…spending time with my wonderful family and of course a little time off from the assignments. Too bad it wasn’t as enjoyable as I had hoped!

My days have been completely jam packed lately between my class assignments, my daily routine with my little angels, and then of course my Etsy Shop.  A little stress is gone now that the first segment of my Unit Plan in 509 is done.  This assignment was due at the same time as my Guided [...]

I’m usually not the one to say it, but I’m looking forward to spring break. I feel like I could use a couple days just to relax, enjoy the family and recharge my batteries. I’ve been quite busy with my at-home businesses, the two classes I’m taking, and my two young children.

March is a really busy and special month at our house. My daughter Jadyn turns one Tuesday, so we spent today shopping for presents and ordering just the perfect birthday cake for her. Her older brother has been singing happy birthday to her every chance he gets and she’s eating it all up. I’m really glad we’re back home and able to share this very special day with the whole family. Sadly, we lived in North Carolina when my son turned one and no one made it down for his special day, so it’s a big deal.

I’m sitting here at the computer thinking how happy I am to be inside where it’s nice and toasty with my two little sweeties. Jake’s been playing with his cars all morning, but more importantly his color changing cars, which means mommy gets to make a dozen trips back and forth from the sink so we can see Lightning McQueen, Mater, Sarge and etc. change from one color to the next. I love how excited he gets to see the colors change before his very eyes, which reminds me why I love teaching so much. I love seeing the interest sparked within my students and their yearning for more.

After a crazy week, it was nice to wind down on a nice Sunday with my family. My husband was sweet enough to let me sleep in a little while, and let my son come in and wake me up. I was awakened with Valentine’s Kisses & presents.

MeSince my son woke up at 4:00 a.m., wide awake and ready to start his day, I figured that this was just as good a time as any to work on typing up a blog. I admit, my mind has been a little preoccupied this semester after finding out that I’m just one class away from getting certified with the ability to teach Students with Disabilities. This is extremely exciting and a little upsetting to me at the same time. When I graduated with my B.S. degree, I was given no information to tell me that I was so close to reaching this goal, or the class would have been taken long before now. So, now I look forward to completing my last remaining class either over the summer or earlier, if at all possible.
