Once in Washington, we met up with the fifth member of our group. Our layover was just about 4 hours! It’s crazy! We got some lunch and chatted for a little bit, prepping ourselves for the middle flight, which was also the longest one…8 hours! Holy cow, I thought it was going to be ridiculous. It turned out to be not so bad because they had a lot of different…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

Packing is….not going quite as good as I had hoped. It’s not like it’s going bad, but I literally have no room in my suitcase and a few more things to pack. I have a bunch of packing lists from both Canisius and my abroad university saying, “DON’T PACK TOO MUCH!” yet here I am, full to the brim. I really don’t know what else to cut! I kind of NEED clothes and whatnot! At any rate, I have a lot of stuff…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

It’s supposed to be pretty hot when I first arrive, but pretty chilled when I’m leaving. I refrain from using the word “cold” because in December, the highs can get into the mid-50′s and the lows down into the high 30′s…maybe I’m crazy but I don’t consider that “winter coat” material. But as my mom also mentioned, if I’m visiting other countries, it may be colder there. I guess what I’m getting at is, I reallllllllly don’t want to bring a winter coat…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

I saw some aunts, uncles, and cousins I haven’t seen in years! It was very nice. My cousins from Memphis and Texas both flew up and holy cow have they gotten tall. They have to be at least 6 feet tall! The wedding was beautiful and my cousin, Beth, looked stunning. Her new husband is so nice (and lucky!). They make a fantastic couple and I’m very happy…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

Monday I’m getting new glasses (hopefully) so that knocks another thing off my list. I can’t believe how much stuff is left and how much is coming together. It’s so crazy to think that in only 2 and a half weeks I will be living in a different country, across the second largest ocean in the world, thousands of miles away from everyone I’m close to. I don’t know what I was thinking, but it may turn out to be the best idea I’ve ever had. I’m so incredibly nervous and scared, but I know this is something I won’t regret. I’ve always been strangely determined to live my life and here I am, seizing this opportunity I’ve been dreaming of…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

The gave me some money as a birthday/have-fun-in-Italy present and my little sister bought me the book Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I’m beginning to wonder just how much of my book is fictional and how much is truly biographical. I hope only the vampire parts are fake because then I’ve learned A LOT about Abe Lincoln so far! The unfortunate part…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

I could spend hours attempting to spruce up programs to make them look nicer and function better. I think a lot of people find that boring, but, hey, to each his own, right? Anyways, back to talking about the class. I just had a midterm. I think it went alright, but I was more astounded by the fact that my class is already half over! Where did summer go?! It seemed like last week…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

I really did enjoy my Fourth of July weekend. Sometimes it’s just really nice to sit and relax in the sun. I have definitely gotten sunburn though…multiple times. It’s okay, though, because I’m slowly remembering to apply sunscreen when I go out. I don’t know how I always forget! I think I just get so excited to go swimming and then don’t realize I’m sunburn until it’s too late and I’m dying of pain…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

I think I’ve received every bill I could possibly received in the mail this week. It’s so depressing watching your bank account diminish so rapidly. I literally have about 200 dollars altogether; it’s ridiculous. On the bright side, however, a few of my major expenses coming up for Italy have been paid in full. A good chunk of my money was used to pay for…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

I’ve been offered a position as a Sales Rep at Vector. I know what you might be thinking and, yes, it IS the knives place. But after actually hearing about the company and the wages, I figured I’d give it a shot. I don’t really consider myself an expert salesperson, but after hearing that the pay is NOT based solely on commission and sales…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…
