Doesn’t it look great? And the best part is that it’s only about a 5-10min drive from Canisius. There is more to this area than the lake too. They have a beautiful rose garden with a big Roman-looking stage type thing- lots of people take their wedding pictures there. I’ve been slacking. I realized that pretty much every time I write another blog, I start off by explaining how busy I am. SO I figured- why not walk you through a day in my life? After dinner, we went downtown to the Fountain Plaza where they have an outdoor skating rink! We skated for a about an hour alongside a whole bunch of other Buffalonians. It was a lot of fun! I LOVE ice skating but I hardly ever get to do it. Even though it’s just a short subway ride… Read more…

I can’t help but think about my future after Canisius all the time now. It’s been consuming my mind a lot lately. I also have been thinking about taking a year to volunteer. What do you think? The Mercy Center crew did a variety of things in the morning. Some days a few of us would go and tutor women who were trying to get there GED. Other days we helped Dominican nuns to babysit infants and toddlers of women who were taking classes to better themselves… Read more…

On Christmas Eve, my parents, siblings, and my boyfriend, went to St. Luke’s Mission on the East Side of Buffalo and assisted with their Christmas dinner celebration. By the time that we arrived, they already had plenty of servers lined up, so instead we waited for Santa to arrive and then helped him to hand out presents to anyone under 16 who was there!
