I read your post on the Freshman 15 and really appreciated reading about somebody else’s experiences and the tips you shared. For myself and many others, the prospect of putting on weight that first year is upsetting and the cause of a lot of anxiety. As you pointed out, new students must learn to make intelligent decisions about the huge amounts of food at their disposal, and about the danger of relying on the dining halls for everyday.

I realize that your post was published in August, but I think you might be interested in embedding this video. As you might have already heard, a recent study by researchers at Ohio State and the University of Michigan-Dearborn has apparently debunked the “Freshman 15” myth. The video analyzes the potential impact of the study’s findings using news coverage from several different perspectives such as the Wall Street Journal, The Village Voice and TIME. I hope you will consider embedding it in your post. I think students will be interested in the study and in your thoughts on its findings.
