Crazy Week

By Michael | April 27, 2010

It has been really crazy lately. Even for me last week was one of the busiest weeks I have had in a long time. It is crazy how this week I have two exams (…including one final) and it does not seem so bad.

On Wednesday of last week I gave a presentation in my Business ethics class. The presentation was on “The Fall of Adelphia”. I feel we did a great job. However, I thought it was going to be a easy presentation. I WAS WRONG!! It was hard work trying to find out where they were actually illegal. It took some time to go through all the legal documents. I found myself really wishing I was a Criminal Justice or pre-law major.

On Friday, the entire campus was basically turned into a museum for Ignatian Scholarship Day. This is a great experience. It was designed to let students highlight and showcase work they have done in different mediums. Some did research projects, some did poster presentations, some sang to the heavens, and some like me did multimedia presentations. This was my second year participating in the event. This year my project was Silent Heroes: The Civil Rights Movement, Then and Now. I felt honored there was some pretty important people who came to my little ‘ole speech. However, the people that touched me the most was my Mommy ( yes, I still call her Mommy), my grandma, and my sister (…who never takes off of work) and 4month old niece ( well she didn’t have a choice.)

Then on Saturday, the Afro-American Society hosted their annual ball. That was a really fun time. It was great to relax and have fun and dance. We announced the Executive Board for next year and I am happy and pleased to say I was elected to a third term as treasurer! That is a first! We also recognized some outstanding supporting students who have helped out with the club throughout the year. Then we all sat down and grubbed on a buffet of food that had everything from fruit salad to roast beef. Then desert was brownies and ice cream. YUM! We ended the night with some dancing…even Fr. Dugan got on the dance floor and showed us his moves.

Well this week seems to be priming up to be another tough one so I better meander to the Libby!
