First Week Home

By Louiza | May 31, 2011

It’s hard to believe that I’ve already been back home for a week. It’s been quite difficult trying to get used to being back in the American life, but it has also been very nice to see everyone. I’ve missed my family and friends very much and just through this past week, I have realized a lot of things that I love about the States as well as some things that I love about Spain. One thing that is for sure is that Buffalo will always be my home and no matter where I go or how long I spend in a different city or country, Buffalo is the one place that truly feels like home to me.

I love being able to have my car and that sense of freedom to just get in it at anytime and drive around whenever and wherever I want to. As odd as this sounds, I do miss speaking Spanish. It has been such a part of my life for the past 5 months that to now be  able to walk around and just speak English and constantly  hear  English is very strange and almost overwhelming in the opposite sense. My biggest concern is that I will lose my Spanish quickly so I’m hoping that I will be able to find someone to practice with so that I can get better!
