Tomorrow, tomorrow I’ll orient ya tomorrow

It’s finally here! New Student Orientation!
After a week of training, tomorrow is the big day when all of the freshmen move in and begin their four year journey at the best school in the country!!
Sorry, after training this week, I’m bursting at the seams with school spirit. But that’s good, right? I’ll be super enthusiastic tomorrow!
I suppose I’m nervous, I really want to make the best impression possible on the new students. I know that I’m their first impression of the school and the first real student that they’re going to meet, and that’s a pretty heavy weight. But with great power comes great fulfillment (my version of the Spiderman quote) and so I know that I am going to feel really great when I see my freshmen opening up, sharing, and realizing that college is one of the best times of their lives. That’s how I feel, anyway. Canisius has so much to offer, not just in academics or facilities, but in people, and its people that determine if a student will stay for their sophomore year.
So I’m going to put on my game face tomorrow, aka a huuuge smile and be ready to greet the new students when they come in. After all, everyone deserves the chance to be the best they can be, and I hope that I can foster that sense of entitlement, wonderment, and excitement in the students. After all, if I’m still this excited about the school and I’m entering my third year here, they should have even more because literally everything is new to them.
Now I’m off to get some shut-eye before the big day.
P.S. If you’re an incoming freshman reading this, come find me tomorrow or sometime over the weekend. You’ll make my day!!!
Ready to orient, inspire, and lead…
