Subway

So they put a Subway on our campus.
Three words: Five Dollar Footlong.
I now know where I will be eating my lunches. While I was a bit hesitant about having such a big name food franchise on campus, I can honestly say that I have warmed up to the idea for the following reasons:
A. Great food at affordable prices. Instead of paying $7 for a sandwhich and a bag of chips, your paying $7 for a sub, a bag of chips, and a drink.
B. Open later. Instead of the Old Main Snack bar closing at 5PM, they now close at 8PM – meaning that you can now go to Subway for dinner, but if you want something else there is still Tim Horton’s, the dining hall, and Iggy’s.
C. Service is great. This is what I was most worried about, mainly because I figured the lines would be so long that the employees would get very frustrated. However, after two weeks of being open and eating there twice, it seems as though the staff of the restaurant is doing a fantastic job and there have been no mistakes as of yet.
Lastly, and most importantly, I was worried that this would hinder the small school atmosphere that Canisius offers – yet, it only seems that it is enhancing it. It seems as though Subway has created its own little community inside of a much larger college community. With them already getting regular customers, it looks as if this new Subway is going to be another treasured spot of the campus for years to come.
